The Beauty of Multi-Use Items

With so many beauty products to choose from, sometimes it feels as if you need to buy it all. But our bank accounts can’t always support that shoppers dream. One great cost-saving tip? Find multi-purpose products; a single product that has multiple functions rather than many products that have only one purpose. Here is one of Gabi Bouvier’s favorites: coconut oil.

Coconut oil has to be my favorite and most versatile product of my collection. A lot of people will condemn it because it can clog your pores like crazy, and I won’t deny it. It is really important to understand the product, and what you intend to use it for, before you crack open the jar. Grace Tepper’s recent article, ‘Read This Before Buying Coconut Oil’, is a great place to start.

Personally, unless I had access to nothing else, I would never use it as a moisturizer. But that is just me. Otherwise, coconut oil is definitely worth taking another look at. I use it as a makeup remover, face cleanser, the base of my exfoliator, body lotion, shaving cream, and lip balm. One jar can be used in place of at least six separate products! Personally, I am a fan of Sister & Co., but there are plenty of options out there. Even better, I have reduced my waste, even if just by a bit. It comes in a glass jar, with a metal lid, and given the number of products I no longer buy, I’ve had a fair bit less plastic waste to dispose of.

Coconut may not be for everyone, but that shouldn’t stop you from discovering your own multi-use products.  Save some space, save some money, and reduce your waste; it makes a difference.
