City Break Style

Label is all about style, self love, and sharing stories through fashion. To give you a glimpse behind the scenes our Head of Clothing Sponsorship, Caroline, and Head of Costumes, Lily, have shared their ‘city break style’ inspirations. These two are the masterminds behind the fashion you will be seeing on the Label runway in April 2017. Find out more about their personal style choices:

Every holiday to a new destination requires an exciting and well-cultivated wardrobe. However, when travelling only with hand luggage, the dream set of outfits can quickly become a nightmare. This June, our Head of Clothing Sponsorship and Head of Costumes travelled to Stuttgart, Germany, and took the opportunity to catalogue their daily outfits.

Day 1: Gatwick to Stuttgart and dinner at a local, traditional restaurant

Lily wears a wool jacket courtesy of re:fashion , a terracotta shirt, black ‘Jamie’ jeans from Topshop and nude court heels from Dune. A black belt defines the waist while a vintage necklace adds a sparkle to the neck.

Caroline wears a green chiffon dress from Label Lab with an attached bronze necklace and nude court heels from Dune (yes, we do share things!)  The addition of a turquoise sequined cardigan from Peruna adds a flair to the outfit suitable for evening wear while protecting against the night chill.

Day 2: Exploring the centre of Stuttgart

Posing outside Stiftskirche in the centre of Stuttgart, Lily wears a black dress, her waist defined by a black belt and the wool jacket she styles so well. Her sandals are terracotta coloured from Primark. Inexpensive sandals are perfect for this sort of trip due to the amount of walking involved. The look is completed with a grey shoulder bag which perfectly compliments the colour of the jacket.

Caroline wears dark blue jeans with a plain white blouse from M&S and a white cardigan. A gold silk scarf from a Spanish market, a strand of pearls, and gold flats from Clarks complete the look. She perches a pair of sunglasses on her head, a fun and practical accessory.

Posing in front of the palace before a guided tour, Lily wears black ‘Jamie’ Topshop jeans with a white blouse and black flats from Zara. A dark green Zara coat adds a touch of colour and elegance while blending in with the surroundings.

Day 4: Visit to Tubingen

Lily recycles her outfit of the previous day but substitutes the blouse for a summery knit, ‘off- the- shoulder’ top. Burgundy earrings in the same shape as her necklace add contrasting colours, while a dark pink lips compliments the earrings. The addition of her green Zara coat changes the look up with the green in the coat perfectly complimenting her necklace.

Caroline wears an LBD from Warehouse with nude court heels from Dune and gold earrings from Macy’s. Her high ponytail allows the earrings and high neckline to take precedence. The addition of her gold scarf adds a playful element to the outfit while making it suitable for evening activities.

Even with only hand luggage it is possible to create a variety of different and fun looks. When packing for such a trip, only take pieces of clothing you absolutely love to wear and know you will feel comfortable in. Complimentary colours ensure that you can mix and match, which Lily has demonstrated perfectly.  A statement jacket or coat can be worn on the plane and easily transforms any outfit. It does of course help when you travel with a friend who is not only the same clothes size but also the same shoe size. Let the clothes ‘borrowing’ commence!

Safe travels this summer; we’d love to hear all about your styling tips. Send us your selfies with the #labellove to be featured by Label.
